Hey there! Welcome to RCCarBuilds.com, the new home to all of the fun projects and challenges I put myself through with the RC Hobby. I've been building, and racing RC cars for over 20 years now, and while
The idea behind this site came almost 10 years ago now, when restoring my very first RC buggy, pictured above. My dad came home from work in 1998 with a Team Associated B3-Team kit, and after years of racing the B4's, I decided to toss my B3 back together, with a few modern updates, and run some events with it. To this day, I still have the car and compete a fair bit with it, though it's probably due for a refresh at this point.
My goal is to build a community for people to build what they want. I personally get a bit annoyed that individuals feel like that in order to be competitive or have fun with the hobby, that you have to have the latest and greatest when it comes to equipment. My goal here is to show that you don't need that to have fun and to beat a couple cars on the weekends.
RC racing, to me, is about being a member of a community of like-minded individuals, a safe outlet to have family fun, and a fun way for us to be creative.
Take a look around, and feel free to stay a while. I'm happy you found us, and look forward to showing you all the cool projects we have in the works!
Thanks,
Kyle
